“If I were a ‘filterer’ I would have gotten rid of my lines and my dark circles, but this is me at 50. #zeroglam #zerofilter,” the star wrote alongside of photo of herself in her skivvies. “Why do I mention this all the time? Because I think it’s important for young women to know that being flawed is truthful and real, and that filtering yourself into someone fictitious is actually damaging to girls’ and women’s self esteem. It’s courageous and beautiful to be real at any age,” she continued. “I realize that fake and filtered sells, but I’m happy over here with my followers who appreciate the difference.”
“People always ask me if I ever relax….I’m very insular & I love to hit pause & heal. Beach walks, swimming, sleep & selfcare are my therapy,” Bethenny recently wrote in an Instagram post. “While there are many strategies to manage stress and anxiety, Kristin Lothman, a mind-body counselor with Mayo Clinic’s Department of Integrative Medicine and Health, says intentionally setting aside time to be quiet and practice self-care is a practice that can reap significant benefits,” says the nonprofit. “I recommend developing a daily self-care practice. It is important to take care of ourselves so that we can show up more powerfully in our own lives and for the people we love.”
Bethenny doesn’t stress about diet or exercise. “My philosophy on eating and exercise is to do what you can when you can,” she wrote in a 2019 Instagram post. “If I’m near a beach, I take an hour walk. If I have the time, I’ll do a yoga DVD. I don’t believe in fear based, torturous, aggressive exercise. Life is too short and stressful to dread doing something for an hour. In addition, extreme exercise creates extreme hunger.”
Frankel stepped away from the RHONY in 2020, revealing that she felt “clean” after making the decision to depart, which was to prioritize her mental health over money. “I feel pure. I feel honest. I feel balanced. I feel rested. I feel calm,” she told Variety. ” It does feel different. It took, like, a couple of months to detox from being on TV in that way for 12 years, for a quarter of my life.”
Two other parts of her life that are major priorities for Bethenny? Family and slumber. “I choose time with my daughter and sleep first,” she revealed in the Instagram post discussing her approach to diet and fitness. “Set aside no more than eight hours for sleep,” advises the Mayo Clinic. “The recommended amount of sleep for a healthy adult is at least seven hours. Most people don’t need more than eight hours in bed to achieve this goal. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try to limit the difference in your sleep schedule on weeknights and weekends to no more than one hour. Being consistent reinforces your body’s sleep-wake cycle. If you don’t fall asleep within about 20 minutes, leave your bedroom and do something relaxing. Read or listen to soothing music. Go back to bed when you’re tired. Repeat as needed.”
