What was once known as a simple, fun activity for kids is now a tool for practicing good mental health. Color has increased in popularity recently, especially for adults.

While children’s coloring books show cartoon characters and simple drawings, adult coloring books have specific patterns of flowers, drawings, mandalas or animals. Changing colors can help you stay alert. Mindfulness is the ability to focus and stay in the moment.

For example, because you are focusing on choosing a color and staying in line, you think it’s just time. You can shut out the noise around you, and give your mind the gift of focusing on your current movements, feelings and emotions.
