‘Blind’ Man Has Stranger Confirm Winning Lotto Ticket, Here’s What They Did

A video went viral after a “blind” man discovered himself to be in possession of a winning lottery scratch-off ticket and decided to ask a stranger to confirm it for him. However, it wasn’t so much the lottery ticket that has everyone’s attention, but what the stranger did after being asked.

The incident was actually a social experiment run by YouTube user Johal — actual name Jag Singh — who wanted to put human honesty to the test. In a video called Rich VS Poor Blind Man Honesty Social Experiment, he did just that by pretending to be a blind man asking strangers to confirm a winning lottery ticket while specifically targeting both upper class neighborhoods and homeless people.

The results were rather astounding. As Jag explains in the beginning of the video, he had a lottery scratch-off ticket within his possession that was actually a $500 winner. (Video below)

As can clearly be seen, people in the posh neighborhoods try to deceive the “blind” man so they can quickly take off with the ticket, trying to snatch his winnings. Unfortunately for them, you can imagine their surprise when Jag revealed the truth and told the strangers he wasn’t blind. Now, it can’t be said how many takes it took to get such a result, but it did happen on more than one occasion.

On the other hand, when Jag approached two homeless people in Modesto, California as the “blind” man, they quickly told him his ticket was a winner. To top it off, their voices had a celebratory and excited ring to them, showing they were happy for the stranger’s unexpected fortune. Once again, it can’t be said how many attempts it took to get these results, but it did happen more than a single time.

All things considered, it’s hard to verify such an outcome (rich people trying to lie and steal, while those less fortunate simply tell the truth), let alone the fact that the results weren’t staged, without seeing the entirety of Jag’s footage, but he did have something to say about the displayed results. While appearing on Fox and Friends Weekend, Jag said that he was “sad to see” people with cars and phones trying to rip off and steal from a “blind” man.

It honestly breaks my heart to see people treating their fellow man in such a way. However, it is good to see that there are people like Jag out there, willing to go out of his way to seek out, find, and reward those who act kind naturally.
