Celebrities have shown once again that they are just like us, this time by marking the end of Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour.
The “Bad Blood” singer concluded her record-breaking world tour on Sunday after performing 149 shows across five continents. Eras became the highest-grossing live music tour of all time.
Swift wrapped the last concert in Vancouver, Canada. While plenty have speculated about what she might do next with her career, some people are simply reflecting on the incredible tour.
British broadcaster Piers Morgan posted a message to X, formerly Twitter, praising the singer.
“Astounding… most lucrative & successful tour in music history. Congrats @taylorswift13 ,” he wrote.
Swift’s fellow singer Michael Bublé gushed about her in a lengthy post on Instagram.
“When I tell you we witnessed something last night that we’ve never experienced before and frankly, may never experience again,” he captioned the post.
“Taylor is truly an incredible entertainer. Her parents were so kindhearted, it’s clear how she became the woman she is today and watching the joy on our daughter’s faces is something we will never forget as long as we live,” Bublé added.
He concluded by writing, “They were in awe of Taylor. The power of connection and the shared experience between generations is a testament to Taylor’s incredible talents. We are grateful to have seen the Eras Tour and in our very own hometown. What an unforgettable night!”
Reporter Maria Shriver reposted a People article outlining the $197 million in bonuses Swift paid her cast and crew during the Eras tour.
“Unbelievably impressive. That’s an incredible boss who understands the power of a team and the ripple effect of doing good. Good for you, @taylorswift13 ,” Shriver posted on X.
Swift’s good friend and Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson was at the last Eras concert. He posted a photo of him posing in front of the stage with his partner to Instagram. Other photos in the post included him posing with a number of celebrities, including actress Aubrey Plaza, and dancing during the concert.
“last night at the last night. congrats @taylorswift ,” Ferguson captioned the post.
Eras debuted in March 2023 and around 10 million people attended the live concerts in Asia, Australia, North America, Europe and South America.
Many have speculated that a behind-the-scenes Eras documentary is forthcoming after spotting video cameras following Swift and her family around during the concerts.
But some experts who spoke to Newsweek prophesized that Swift would likely take a break and then experiment with different musical genres.
“Taylor’s last two albums were met with a more tepid critical response than her earlier work… and my guess is Taylor will spend some time finding a new direction in songwriting,” said Drew Nobile, an associate professor of music theory at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance.
“Doing the Eras Tour in the middle of her career… seems more like the end of something than part of an ongoing story, and anything that comes next might be seen as more of a coda,” Nobile added, suggesting Swift might even “write a Broadway show.”
