For the new Valentino campaign, Florence Pugh ditches her pants in favor of a plunging bodysuit

Florence Pugh is the newest celebrity to formally join the Valentino family, continuing her reign over the fashion world. In a series of stunning photos taken by fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the “Don’t Worry Darling” actor debuts the legendary Valentino rockstud bags and shoes as the brand’s new face on April 26.

Pugh is seen in the photographs clutching the rockstud bag in a variety of color combinations, including Barbiecore pink and metallic silver, and showing a range of emotions, from astonishment to joy. And she wasn’t about to let her garments obscure the available accessories. Pugh appears in the six ad photos, which were styled by Joe McKenna, rocking the trouser-free trend in plunging bodysuits and studded.

And Pugh’s glam squad followed the theme with looks that complemented her informal outfits. Pat McGrath was responsible for her makeup which features her signature eyeliner flick, dewy skin, and matte nude lip, while Guido Palau kept movement in her blonde bob, which was swept away from her face with a side parting. Nail artist Dawn Sterling also deserves an extra shoutout for Pugh’s nails which feature a nude manicure with adorned with a sing crystal stud on each nail, in keeping with the campaign.

“It’s not just a face, it’s a real partnership based on trust and respect. I met Florence right after my couture show, and I was impressed by her intelligence and bravery, the way she stand for herself, the ability to handle any circumstances with such grace and acumen,” creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli wrote on Instagram on 26 April. “Maybe it’s thanks to her job or maybe this is the reason why she chose to be an actress in the first place.

What is actually relevant to me is that this young, fierce talented actress became a friend of mine and together we decided to embark in this campaign. Rockstud is a statement of its own and Florence interpretation of it is exactly what I had in mind to tell this story.”
