LITITZ, Pa. — Three individuals from Lancaster County are facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a closed Warwick Township bar, setting off fireworks inside, and stealing various items.
The suspects, identified as Andrew Nathan Allen, 18, of Marietta; Thomas Frances Wainman III, 19, of Lititz; and Morgan Taylor Simmons, 21, of Lancaster, are charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and two counts of criminal conspiracy, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional Police. Additionally, Allen and Wainman face charges of reckless burning, arson, and risking a catastrophe.
Incident Details
The investigation began on July 24 after police received a report of Snapchat videos showing Allen and Wainman breaking into the former LaPiazza Restaurant and Sports Bar at 800 Lititz Pike, which closed in 2021. The videos reportedly showed the suspects setting off fireworks inside the building.
In a separate video posted on July 23, Wainman was seen in a bedroom displaying a menu and beer tap from LaPiazza. Investigators later found scorch marks, spent fireworks, and empty alcohol cans inside the abandoned restaurant.
Snapchat reviews revealed a third suspect, Simmons, who was also seen entering the building with the other two. During an October interview, Simmons admitted to helping break into the restaurant, setting off fireworks, and taking items from inside, including a bar sign.
Recovered Items
On Oct. 28, the father of one suspect reported finding items believed to be stolen from LaPiazza. Police later confirmed the items matched property belonging to the restaurant. On Nov. 4, Simmons’ father contacted authorities to report finding a stolen “Open” sign also taken from the establishment.
The investigation remains ongoing as all three suspects await their court appearances.
