Ryan Reynolds reveals his thoughts about wife’s friend, Taylor Swift, who is also the godmother of his and Blake Lively’s kids.

Ryan Reynolds has recalled a ‘sweet’ remark that Taylor Swift made about being godmother to his children with his wife Blake Lively.

Blake, 37, married Ryan, 48, in 2012 and they have since welcomed four children – daughters James, nine, Inez, eight, and Betty, five, and son Olin, one.

For years Blake has been a member of Taylor’s star-studded girl squad, amid such names as supermodel Gigi Hadid and actress Zoe Kravitz.

Taylor released a song called betty in 2020 in a tip of the hat to Blake and Ryan’s youngest daughter, and the lyric also included James and Inez’ names.

Now Ryan has shared his reaction to the touching moment when Taylor announced to the world that she was the children’s godmother.

The 34-year-old pop star broke the news in an Instagram post promoting Ryan’s latest blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, starring him and Hugh Jackman.

Remembering the social media comment, Ryan joked: ‘I need that one on my gravestone actually,’ in an interview with Deadline.

In Taylor’s original post, she name-checked Deadpool’s alter ego and wrote: ‘Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!’

Looking back on the viral moment, Ryan shared that Taylor is ‘godparent to my daughters,’ while not indicating whether she has the same role in Olin’s life.

‘But yeah, that was very sweet of – that was not just sweet, that was like a – you could probably quantify a box office based on Taylor just doing something like that.’

Deadpool & Wolverine did indeed prove to be a galloping success, crossing the billion-dollar mark to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

Shawn Levy, who directed three of Ryan’s recent movies including Deadpool & Wolverine, has revealed he is Olin’s godfather, via Variety.

Blake makes an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine as a character called Ladypool, with Inez also landing a surprise cameo as Kidpool.

While the movie was in theaters, Ryan posted a sweet snap of him and Inez in their costumes on set, clearly locked in conversation.

‘Only costar I argued with. Most people think Kidpool is the dirtiest. But she’s also pretty good at backtalk and never taking out the trash,’ he joked.

Although Ryan is known for his constant quips in interviews and on social media, he has a celebrity neighbor who is less than impressed with his sense of humor.

‘He’s not so funny in real life,’ said Martha Stewart at Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show. ‘No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.’

Martha, who has a farm near Ryan and Blake’s home in upstate New York, added: ‘He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny.’

Ryan reacted on X, formerly Twitter, with a joke: ‘I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.’

Sources have said Ryan, who has been public about his battle with anxiety, prefers being ‘quiet over being on all the time’ in his private life.
